Ezequiel Lavezzi reveals why he chose PSG over Inter Milan

Former footballer Ezequiel Lavezzi has revealed details regarding his 2012 departure from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking on the Amazon Prime Video podcast ‘Fenomeni’, Lavezzi disclosed that he knew mid-season that his time with the club was coming to an end after reaching an agreement with president Aurelio De Laurentiis regarding his release clause.

Lavezzi noted that Inter Milan was a potential destination, offering a contract that was 200,000 euros less than the offer from PSG. He explained that his decision to move to Paris rather than staying in Serie A with Inter was motivated by a desire to avoid betraying the Napoli supporters. He stated, “I could not disappoint all the love that the Neapolitans gave me,” adding that moving abroad was a positive choice for the fans to avoid a direct move to a domestic rival.
