Ezio Scida stadium returns to hosting matches with spectators
The Ezio Scida stadium in Crotone has seen a rapid shift in security protocols. Following a decision by the Crotone Prefecture to hold the Cosenza-Potenza match behind closed doors due to “grave structural deficiencies” and public order concerns, the stadium hosted the Crotone-Barletta match with 1,916 spectators, including visiting fans, just one week later.
In response to the legal proceedings regarding stadium usage, the Curva Sud Crotone Ultras group issued a statement addressing claims of rivalry between Crotone and Cosenza fans. The group denied any such rivalry exists, describing the relationship between the two organized fan bases as a “true, clear and transparent friendship.” They criticized the use of alleged fan tensions as a justification in legal appeals, calling the characterization of their relationship “ridiculous, instrumental and unacceptable.”
