Ezri Konsa performance creates selection dilemma for Arsenal

Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has impressed following his £55 million move from Aston Villa, creating selection challenges for manager Mikel Arteta. Konsa was brought in to bolster the defense during William Saliba’s injury absence, but his high level of performance has made him a key fixture in the starting lineup.

During Arsenal’s recent victory over Liverpool, Konsa recorded eight clearances and won the majority of his duels and tackles. Statistics indicate he holds the highest pass accuracy in the Premier League this season at 96%. In his ten starts across all competitions, the team has secured eight wins and six clean sheets.

Rio Ferdinand noted that Konsa’s efficiency and versatility, specifically his ability to play at right-back, may force Arteta to make difficult decisions once Saliba returns to training. Ferdinand suggested that Konsa is a top-tier player who could remain in the starting eleven regardless of Saliba’s availability.
