F. B. Guèye case: ‘acts against nature’ charge removed

Senegalese authorities have officially removed the “acts against nature” charge – which encompassed homosexuality and lesbianism – from the criminal file of F. B. Guèye, the daughter of Jamra NGO vice‑president Mame Matar Guèye. Lawyers Seyba Danfakha and Alpha Oumar Diallo confirmed the removal after meeting judge Sokhna Awa Diop of the 6th Instructional Cabinet, stating the charge was “totally excluded from the file.”

Mame Matar Guèye announced a press conference for Thursday, 6 August at 16:00 in the Guédiawaye town hall to explain the latest developments. The case began with Guèye’s arrest on 20 July 2026 alongside three others; she remains charged with association of malefactors, possession and use of cocaine, while the “acts against nature” allegation has been dropped.
