F1 Academy expands rookie development programme for 2026
F1 Academy has announced the expansion of its talent development programme for 2026, introducing a new Rookie Training Camp in partnership with Loughborough University. The initiative aims to support the next generation of female single-seater talent by combining motorsport preparation with scientific athlete development.
Eighteen selected drivers will participate in the programme. The first phase will take place at Loughborough University from August 25 to 27, involving physiological profiling, cognitive assessments, and performance screening. This phase focuses on the physical, cognitive, and behavioral demands of professional motorsport.
The second phase will be held at the Circuito de Navarra in Spain from September 9 to 11. During this on-track Rookie Test, participants will work within F1 Academy teams, engaging in engineering sessions, operational training, and media preparation before driving F1 Academy vehicles.
