Formula 1 could end 2026 season in Europe amid Middle East conflict
Formula 1 chief Stefano Domenicali said the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, scheduled for 29 November and 6 December 2026, remain on the calendar but could be moved to Europe if the Middle‑East situation does not improve. He indicated a decision would be taken by mid‑September and mentioned Imola in Italy as a possible replacement venue.
Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner warned that holding the finale in Europe in November‑December would be risky because of cold weather and financial concerns, noting the limited number of circuits able to host a race on short notice. He cited the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was shifted to the Sepang circuit in Malaysia after the original April date was cancelled due to the US‑Iran conflict, as an example of how the calendar has already been reshaped.
