F1963 Garden in Busan named one of Korea's 30 most beautiful private gardens
The F1963 Garden in Suyeong-gu, Busan, has been selected as one of the ‘2026 30 Beautiful Private Gardens in Korea’ by the Korea Forest Service. This recognition makes it the only garden from Busan to be included in this year's selection of 30 sites out of 194 applicants.
F1963 is a complex cultural space created through the architectural renovation of a Kiswire wire factory established in 1963. The garden integrates industrial heritage with nature, featuring several distinct areas: ‘Sorigil,’ a bamboo forest path reflecting the flexible characteristics of wire; ‘Dalbit Garden,’ an ecological garden repurposed from a former wastewater treatment plant; and ‘Danpung Garden,’ a relaxation space featuring zelkova trees and autumn foliage.
Previously designated as Busan’s first private garden in December 2024, the site aims to promote garden culture and showcase the value of privately maintained green spaces.
