F5 Networks launches AI Security Platform and acquires SurePath AI

F5 Networks announced the launch of the F5 AI Security Platform, a suite built around five integrated security pillars that cover the entire AI lifecycle—from discovery and testing to governance, runtime protection and observability. The platform integrates technology from SurePath AI, a Colorado‑based firm that detects unauthorized or “shadow” AI use through network‑based, out‑of‑band analysis, allowing security teams to see both approved and rogue AI tools without requiring additional integrations.

Designed for on‑premises, air‑gapped, public‑cloud and hybrid deployments, the solution targets organisations that prioritize data sovereignty and compliance. F5’s internal research shows that 98 % of enterprises are preparing for agentic AI, while 78 % already run AI inference internally, typically operating around seven models in production. Chief Product Officer Kunal Anand noted, “AI needs boundaries. Once you define a limit, users learn to bypass it, attackers exploit it, and agents increase the risk for both.”
