FAA halts flights at New York hubs due to heavy rain and flood risks

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has temporarily halted flights at several major New York area airports, including John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The decision follows forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas expected to receive between two and three inches of rainfall, potentially leading to flooding.

Delta Air Lines has experienced significant delays and grounded flights due to its high volume of operations in the Northeast. These disruptions follow similar weather-related flight halts at Florida airports earlier in the week, which impacted American Airlines.
