Fabian Figueiredo reveals history of childhood domestic violence

Fabian Figueiredo, a deputy for the Bloco de Esquerda party, has publicly disclosed a history of domestic violence experienced during his childhood. In a personal account titled ‘A Violência da Normalidade’, Figueiredo detailed years of abuse at the hands of his father.

He described an environment characterized by fear, disproportionate shouting, and physical violence, noting that he and his siblings were victims of various traumatic incidents. Figueiredo recounted specific instances of terror, including threats involving weapons and physical assaults, and shared that he once fled his home as a child due to the pervasive atmosphere of fear.
