Fabián Ruiz eyes Ballon d'Or after Champions League and World Cup wins

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz has expressed his ambition to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or, describing the individual award as a “dream for any footballer.” His confidence follows an exceptionally successful season where he secured major titles, including the UEFA Champions League with PSG and the FIFA World Cup with Spain.

Ruiz, 30, recently signed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain through June 2028. While he acknowledges having achieved significant collective success, he noted in an interview with Téléfoot that he seeks individual recognition for his work.

Despite his achievements, some analysts suggest his chances may be challenged by more offensive players or teammates like Ousmane Dembélé. The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on October 26.
