Fabián Ruiz expresses desire to retire at Real Betis

Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz, currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, has expressed his desire to retire at Real Betis, the club where he was trained and made his professional debut. Despite his current success in France, the 30-year-old midfielder stated, “I have always said that I would like to retire at Betis, which is my home, my team.”

Ruiz is also discussing his individual ambitions, noting that he feels his recent performances and collective successes with both PSG and the Spanish national team merit consideration for the Ballon d'Or. He clarified that his comments are not a campaign for the award but rather a recognition of the hard work put in during a highly successful year.

Regarding his transfer history, former teammate Faouzi Ghoulam suggested that Ruiz’s 2022 move to PSG was partly motivated by the club’s desire to prevent Real Madrid from signing him. While Ruiz has since become a key player under manager Luis Enrique, the anecdote highlights the competitive nature of his high-profile career.
