Fabian Staudenmann wins historic Schwägalp Bergkranzfest

Fabian Staudenmann secured a historic victory at the Schwägalp Bergkranzfest, becoming the first non-Northeast Swiss wrestler to win the event twice. Staudenmann, a 26-year-old from Guggisberg, dominated the competition with six wins, including a decisive final bout against fellow Bernese wrestler Lars Zaugg. The final match was brief, with Staudenmann securing the win in just eleven seconds.

In the Northwest Swiss regional festival, Nick Alpiger achieved his first victory at a partial association festival by defeating Lars Voggensperger.

The event saw a disappointing performance from local favorites in the Northeast, including wrestling king Armon Orlik, who failed to reach the final round after a draw in his fifth bout. Staudenmann's performance establishes him as a primary favorite heading into the season peak in Kilchberg.
