Fabinho leaves Al-Ittihad after three seasons, becomes free agent

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho announced his departure from Saudi club Al-Ittihad on 6 August 2026, ending a three‑year spell that began in July 2023. During his time in Saudi Arabia he made 111 appearances, scored seven goals and provided eight assists, helping the team win the Saudi Professional League and the King’s Cup domestic double.

The club posted a video tribute praising his humility, leadership and professionalism as a captain. Fabinho responded with an emotional farewell message, saying he will remain a supporter of Al‑Ittihad and hopes he never held back in serving the club.

Fabinho, who featured for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup, is now a free agent. He has expressed a desire to continue his career in Europe, while Brazilian clubs such as Palmeiras and Fluminense have been linked to him, though no concrete negotiations have been reported.
