Hamburger SV sells Fabio Baldé to Racing Strasbourg for €7 million

Hamburger SV has officially confirmed the transfer of 21-year-old academy graduate Fabio Baldé to French Ligue 1 side Racing Strasbourg. The deal is valued at a guaranteed base fee of approximately €7 million, with additional seven-figure bonuses potentially increasing the total amount.

Baldé, a German-Portuguese winger, spent six years at HSV, progressing from their youth academy to the professional squad. During the previous Bundesliga season, he made 16 appearances, recording one goal and one assist. The transfer represents a significant financial success for HSV, marking one of their most lucrative individual sales since Amadou Onana in 2021. HSV has also reportedly secured a ten-percent share of any future profit from a subsequent sale.

Racing Strasbourg is expected to sign the player to a long-term contract, with reports indicating terms lasting until 2031. HSV officials, including Sporting Director Claus Costa and Board Member for Sport Kathleen Krüger, praised Baldé’s development and his desire to take the next step in his professional career.
