Fabio Grosso appointed Fiorentina head coach on contract through 2028

Italian Serie A club ACF Fiorentina announced that former World Cup winner Fabio Grosso will take over as head coach of the first team. The 48‑year‑old signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2028, replacing Paolo Vanoli after a season that saw the club finish 15th.

Grosso, born 28 November 1977 in Rome, began his coaching career in 2013 with Juventus’ youth sector. He made his senior debut as manager of Bari in 2017 and has since led teams such as Olympique Lyon, Frosinone and Sassuolo, achieving two promotions from Serie B to Serie A and guiding Sassuolo to an 11th‑place finish last campaign.

Club president Giuseppe B. Commisso said, “We are very happy to welcome Fabio Grosso. He is not only a World Cup champion but also a coach who has built his career with hard work, ideas and results.” Grosso thanked the club, saying he is eager to bring “seriousness, professionalism and ambition” to Fiorentina.
