Fabio Grosso appointed head coach of Serie A club Fiorentina

Former Italy defender Fabio Grosso, famed for his decisive penalty in the 2006 World Cup final, has been named the new head coach of Fiorentina. The appointment marks his latest managerial role after previous stints with clubs such as Bari, Verona, and Frosinone.

Grosso, who was born in Rome and raised in Abruzzo, is known for keeping his private life out of the public eye. He is married to Jessica Repetto, daughter of former football executive Giorgio Repetto, and they have two sons, Filippo and Giacomo. His personal Instagram remains focused on football content, reflecting his emphasis on privacy.

The Fiorentina board cited his experience as both a player and coach as key factors for the hire, hoping he can bring stability and success to the Serie A side.
