Fabio Jakobsen joins Visma | Lease a Bike through 2027

Dutch sprinter Fabio Jakobsen has officially joined the Visma | Lease a Bike cycling team, signing a contract that runs through the end of 2027. The transfer from Team Picnic PostNL is effective immediately, allowing the 29-year-old to compete for his new team within the current season.

Jakobsen, a former European champion, aims to revitalize his career following several seasons marked by physical challenges and inconsistent results. He expressed enthusiasm about the move, stating that joining the team is a “dream come true” and noting the importance of having a strong collective to support his sprinting.

Reflecting on the high stakes of the move, Jakobsen described the new role as a final opportunity to prove he can still compete at the highest level of the World Tour. He indicated that if he is unable to succeed with a top-tier team like Visma | Lease a Bike, he may consider retirement.
