Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha reconcile after Aragon GP tensions
Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha have reconciled following a period of tension triggered by the Aragon Grand Prix. The friction arose from the rider's intense frustration regarding the performance of his machine, leading to public criticisms of the team.
During the Misano Grand Prix weekend, Yamaha Team Director Massimo Meregalli confirmed that a meeting was held to clarify the situation. Meregalli stated, “I think I have understood the weight of the words spoken by Fabio after the Aragon GP. When he arrived yesterday, we clarified everything.”
Quartararo acknowledged that his comments were driven by frustration, noting that while he may not regret his competitive drive, he admitted, “perhaps we said things that were not right.” The rider expressed a need to manage his outbursts more delicately in the future.
Despite the upcoming end of their collaboration at the conclusion of the 2026 season, Yamaha intends to maintain a professional working relationship and will continue to provide technical developments to the rider for the remainder of the term.
