Fabio Quartararo doubts Yamaha's progress ahead of Hungarian GP
French MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo said there will be “six long months” with no significant improvement from Yamaha as the team heads into the Hungarian Grand Prix. He noted that the V4 project has stalled, using essentially the same engine as in September 2025, and that grip and front‑end feel remain problematic. Quartararo added that despite his criticism, his relationship with Yamaha stays intact and he remains grateful for their past partnership, even as rumours of a possible move to Honda circulate.
Earlier in the season Quartararo admitted his public outbursts were unhelpful, describing a shift from anger to resignation as Yamaha’s development lagged. Team principal Paolo Pavesio confirmed the rider’s tone has softened but emphasized that Yamaha does not regret re‑signing him for 2024. With only half the season left, Quartararo expects no further upgrades and is focused on extracting maximum performance from the unchanged package while looking ahead to the 2027 technical changes in MotoGP.
