Fabio Quartararo flags Yamaha bike limits ahead of German MotoGP round

French rider Fabio Quartararo voiced concerns before the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, saying the Yamaha MotoGP bike is missing rear‑grip and handling on a circuit that demands precise cornering. He noted that the bike has seen no technical upgrades since the start of the season, as Yamaha concentrates on the upcoming 2027 regulation change that will reduce engine capacity.

Yamaha team manager Massimo Meregalli stressed the importance of qualifying at the Sachsenring, where overtaking opportunities are limited, and the team hopes to finish the first half of the season on a positive note before the summer break. Quartararo, a former race winner at the track, aims to extract points despite the technical shortcomings. His move from Yamaha to Honda has already been confirmed, though details of the new lineup have not yet been published.

The German GP will be the last race before a three‑week hiatus, giving Yamaha a window to continue development away from the pressure of race weekends.
