Fabio Quartararo struggles at Austrian GP and critiques MotoGP sprint format

Fabio Quartararo finished in 17th place at the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, failing to secure points despite a strong start. The Yamaha rider initially fought near the front, attempting to stay with Pecco Bagnaia, but suffered from excessive rear tire wear during the race.

Beyond race performance, Quartararo has addressed the ongoing discussions regarding the MotoGP weekend format for 2027. He suggested that if the category aims to emulate the Formula 1 structure, it should reduce the number of sprint races. Currently, MotoGP features sprints in every round, whereas Quartararo proposed a model similar to Formula 1, which would limit sprints to approximately ten to twelve per season.
