Fabio Roscioli elected Deputy for Reggio Calabria-Locri
Fabio Roscioli of Forza Italia has been elected as the new Deputy for the Reggio Calabria-Locri constituency. Roscioli secured 51.02% of the vote, totaling 38,359 votes, following the vacancy left by Francesco Cannizzaro, who transitioned to the role of mayor.
In the Locride area, Roscioli saw significant support, including 81.91% in Sant’Ilario dello Ionio and 71.43% in Agnana Calabra. Supporters noted that his victory consolidates a political phase aimed at addressing regional issues such as infrastructure, healthcare, and employment.
The election was marked by a notably low voter turnout. Only 22.34% of eligible voters participated in the two-day vote, a significant decrease compared to the 49.40% recorded during the 2022 elections. Despite the low participation, the legal requirements for the election were met, as Italian law does not mandate a minimum turnout quorum for parliamentary seats.
