Fabio Torres, vallenato industry creative, dies at 42

Fabio Andrés Torres Molina, widely known as ‘El Rector’, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the age of 42. His death has caused significant mourning in Valledupar among the music industry, artists, and entrepreneurs.

Torres built a career in design, advertising, and marketing through his company, Zona Creativa. He played a key role in the vallenato music scene, managing campaigns and launches for prominent artists including Silvestre Dangond, Ana del Castillo, Elder Dayán, Diego Daza, Mono Zabaleta, and Churo Díaz.
