Fabio Wardley vows to improve jab following Usyk criticism

British heavyweight Fabio Wardley has responded to criticism from Oleksandr Usyk regarding his technical deficiencies following his loss to Daniel Dubois. During their match in Manchester, Dubois secured a technical knockout victory in the 11th round after Wardley failed to defend against Dubois' jab, which caused significant swelling and impaired his vision.

Usyk previously critiqued Wardley’s lack of a direct punch, asking, “Fabio, where is your jab? You never jab.” Wardley acknowledged the validity of the heavyweight champion's observations, noting that he lacks the extensive amateur boxing background and timing that Usyk possesses. Wardley stated, “Mr Usyk, I’m working on my jab. I promise. I will try and do better for you.”

Wardley is preparing for a rematch against Daniel Dubois, which is scheduled to take place on October 17 at London’s O2 Arena.
