Fabiola Ferrero exhibition opens at Museo di Roma in Trastevere
Venezuelan photographer and journalist Fabiola Ferrero is presenting her solo exhibition, ‘LAS GRIETAS. Sulle tracce di una fantasia’, at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere from October 1 to November 22, 2026. The exhibition, organized by the International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA) with support from Roma Capitale, serves as a cultural bridge between Italy and Latin America.
The collection is dedicated to the memory of the thousands of victims and missing persons from the earthquake that struck northern Venezuela on June 24, 2026. Through works such as ‘Whispering Walls’, Ferrero documents investigations conducted among the rubble, incorporating testimonies from rescue teams to highlight both the tragedy and the resulting social solidarity.
The exhibition also features ‘Antimonumento’, a project developed during Ferrero’s residency in Rome. This work creates a dialogue between the marble of Rome’s commemorative monuments and the female body, exploring themes of aging, fragility, and resistance. The exhibition is structured around four key chapters: ‘Whispering Walls’, ‘I Can’t Hear the Birds’, ‘Reinas’, and ‘Contramonumento’.
