Fabriano resident faces eviction due to disability and unemployment

Nour El Houda Boughanmi, a 41-year-old Tunisian woman living in Fabriano, Italy, is facing eviction from her home due to unpaid rent. Boughanmi, known locally as 'Luce', has lived in Italy for over twenty years and holds unlimited residency status.

She is currently 80% disabled following a severe illness that resulted in the loss of her job as a cultural mediator. She reported that she was unable to pay rent for eight months starting in April of last year, and her housing contract was not renewed last November. Boughanmi stated she is currently relying on Caritas for food and is living on disability benefits, the single universal allowance, and family support, noting that her inclusion allowance has been blocked since May.

Maurizio Serafini, the municipal assessor for social services, has provided reassurances regarding the situation, stating that she will not be evicted.
