Fabriano terminates PalaGuerrieri renovation contract

The municipality of Fabriano has terminated its contract with the construction firm Baiocco due to negligence regarding the renovation of the PalaGuerrieri sports complex. The project, valued at over 4 million euros, is currently 60% complete, with approximately 1.2 million euros in work remaining, including roof completion, interior finishes, and external areas.

The decision has sparked intense political debate. Local opposition, including Fratelli d'Italia and former councilor Paolo Paladini, have criticized the administration's management, citing project delays, design errors, and a lack of vision. Critics argue the termination represents a failure that will delay the reopening of the facility for years, impacting both local sports and the site's role as a Civil Protection hub.

Mayor Daniela Ghergo's administration maintains that the termination was a necessary step to protect the city's interests and expedite the completion of the facility, which serves as a vital community asset.
