Fabrizio Corona fined for privacy breach and targeted in Milan extortion attempt
Fabrizio Corona has faced two distinct legal and security incidents in Italy. First, the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante Privacy) sanctioned Corona with a 4,950 euro fine for the unlawful dissemination of private audio files and chat messages belonging to actor Raoul Bova. The Authority ruled that the unauthorized release of intimate conversations for the purpose of gossip does not meet the threshold of public interest and violates privacy principles.
In a separate incident, Corona reported an attempted extortion and assault to the Milan Police. He alleged that two young men demanded 500 euros, threatening to harm him and his son, Carlos. Following a police-monitored meeting in the Città Studi district of Milan, one 20-year-old suspect was arrested after an individual used a chain to smash the window of Corona’s Range Rover. The suspect is currently under investigation for attempted extortion and aggravated damage.
