Fabrizio Corona launches ‘Movimento Per La Verità’ political movement

Fabrizio Corona has announced the launch of a new political movement called ‘Movimento Per La Verità’ (Movement For Truth) via a video on his YouTube channel. Describing himself as a ‘liberal and anti-system’ figure, Corona has compared himself to Silvio Berlusconi, positioning his movement against the current government led by Giorgia Meloni and traditional political parties.

The movement’s platform includes proposals regarding the legalization of drugs and prostitution, immigration reform, healthcare, and taxation. Corona also addressed the impact of artificial intelligence, suggesting measures to prevent it from replacing human workers.

Despite his political ambitions, Corona faces legal obstacles that prevent him from being elected. Due to a definitive conviction for extortion involving former footballer David Trezeguet, he remains subject to legal limitations that would bar him from holding office. This follows a previous attempt in 2023 to run for the Catania City Council, which also failed to result in his name appearing on the ballot.
