Fabrizio Donato discusses coaching journey with Andy Díaz

Fabrizio Donato, a former Italian triple jumper, has shared the story of how his relationship with European champion Andy Díaz began. The connection started in November 2021 when Díaz reached out to Donato via an Instagram call, seeking help after fleeing his home country.

Despite initial language barriers, the encounter evolved from an emergency request for assistance into a deep sporting and personal bond. Donato, who held 23 Italian national titles, transitioned from being a fellow competitor to a mentor and coach for Díaz. The duo now aims for Olympic gold, with Díaz also participating in the television program ‘Ballando con le stelle’.
