Fabrizio Miccoli hosts charity legends match in Palermo
Former Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli held a charity football match titled ‘The Last Match – Miccoli Legends Game’ at the Stadio Renzo Barbera. The event, which featured various football legends including Filippo Inzaghi and Radja Nainggolan, drew approximately 15,000 spectators. Team Miccoli defeated Nazionale Artisti TV with a score of 6-0.
The match served a philanthropic purpose, raising 20,000 euros for the Fondazione Falcone. Romanian former player Dorin Goian participated as a substitute and gained attention for a notable missed opportunity when he struck the crossbar from close range.
Miccoli, the all-time leading scorer for Palermo, organized the event as a farewell to professional football. The match comes years after his professional retirement in 2015 and follows a complex legal history involving past convictions for extortion.
