Fabrizio Plessi exhibition ‘Digital Splash’ debuts in Mallorca

The video art pioneer Fabrizio Plessi has a final exhibition titled ‘Digital Splash’ hosted at the Es Baluard Museu in Mallorca. The project, conceived before Plessi’s sudden death last August, was specifically designed for the island where he resided seasonally.

The exhibition features a large-scale video installation composed of four large screens and twenty monitors. The work uses a repetitive loop of rocks falling onto sculptures to serve as a metaphor for breaking limits. The installation intentionally exposes its technological framework, including cables, boards, and LED lights, while also displaying eleven original drawings that trace the creative process from inception to completion.

Curated by David Barro and Jackie Herbst, the exhibition is part of the Biennal B initiative in collaboration with the Consell de Mallorca. Rocco Plessi, the artist's son, noted that the work reflects his father's lifelong curiosity and his ability to experiment with technology through a deeply human lens.
