Facebook and Instagram outage disrupts users in Portugal and Brazil

On Friday, Meta's platforms Facebook and Instagram experienced a multi‑hour outage that left users unable to load feeds, post content, or send messages. Reports on Downdetector began around 10:40 a.m., with users on X (formerly Twitter) sharing complaints such as “Instagram tá fora? Tô tentando postar lá, mas não carrega” and “A cada atualização, o Instagram e WhatsApp só pioram os bugs.”

In Portugal, the interruption affected small businesses that rely on the apps for sales and customer communication, delaying order confirmations and marketing campaigns. Brazil saw similar user frustration, though Meta has not provided an explanation for the failure.
