兆基屋管 faces account freezes while Taiwan Cooperative Bank fined for credit card errors

兆基屋管 (Zhaoji Property Management) has announced that several of its bank accounts have been flagged as “warning accounts” following criminal complaints filed by specific individuals. The company stated that these restrictions have significantly impacted its daily operations, including payroll, payments to suppliers, and general cash flow management.

The company clarified that the complaints relate to investment matters from 2021 involving various entities and legal relationships, only a small portion of which are connected to the company. 兆基屋管 maintains that all relevant debts were fully settled in previous years with complete financial records and denies any intent to defraud investors. The company is cooperating with police investigations to clarify the actual flow of funds.

Separately, the Financial Supervisory Commission has fined Taiwan Cooperative Bank NT$12 million for failing to promptly process credit card dispute claims. Over a nine-year period, the bank failed to request refunds from international credit card organizations for 6,334 cases, resulting in a loss of approximately NT$101.64 million for the bank. Consequently, the commission has suspended the bank from accepting new credit card customers for one month.
