FaceTec reaches 50 patents with new USPTO grant for autonomous authentication

FaceTec has reached a milestone of 50 issued patents following a new grant from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The new patent, U.S. Patent 12,699,756, covers server nodes for autonomous authentication.

The technology introduces a method for user-controlled authentication on server nodes designed to shield biometric data from staff and administrators. By utilizing a node server with an SDK and an access module, the system aims to remove the necessity for administrative accounts or manual IT intervention to maintain databases and update biometric references. This approach is intended to protect sensitive data in sectors such as payments, financial services, and voting.

FaceTec currently has an additional 50 patent applications pending. The company’s software, which includes 3D liveness detection and eye tracking, has performed over 4 billion 3D liveness checks globally in the past 12 months.
