Facilities management focuses on data-driven efficiency and kitchen resource optimization
Facilities management is evolving toward data-driven strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. While traditional focuses include HVAC, lighting, and water usage, commercial kitchens are emerging as a significant area for potential optimization due to their high resource consumption.
According to the International Facility Management Association’s 2026 AI & Digitalization in Facilities Management Report, rising energy costs are a primary challenge for one in five facilities managers. Unlike other building systems that utilize real-time automation and predictive maintenance, many commercial kitchens still rely on manual logs and visual estimates. This lack of visibility can obscure the true costs of food waste, labor, and energy consumption, presenting an opportunity for increased digitalization and improved sustainability.
