Fact Check: JP Nadda Did Not Exit PM Narendra Modi’s Car to Greet Him
A video circulating on social media claimed that Union minister JP Nadda stepped out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Range Rover and greeted him with a bouquet, suggesting a staged welcome. The post, shared by an X user and viewed over 1.5 million times, sparked widespread mockery.
Fact‑checkers traced the clip to a July 27, 2024 upload by Asian News International’s Hindi Twitter handle, which showed Modi arriving at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi. In the original footage, a man seated beside Modi exits the vehicle carrying files, not a bouquet, and there is no indication that the individual is Nadda. The claim that Nadda exited the car to present flowers is therefore false.
The misinformation highlights how edited or out‑of‑context video can spread quickly online, prompting verification by outlets such as Alt News.
