Factorial Energy and SK On team up to accelerate solid‑state battery production

Factorial Energy and SK On have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore large‑scale manufacturing of Factorial’s next‑generation solid‑state batteries. The collaboration will assess how SK On’s global battery‑making network and its existing lithium‑ion production lines, including about 100 GWh of capacity in the United States, could be adapted for Factorial’s FEST (Factorial Electrolyte System Technology) platform. By using established facilities rather than building new factories, the partners aim to speed commercialization and lower industrialisation costs. Factorial CEO Siyu Huang said the partnership is intended to move the technology from laboratory breakthroughs to commercial scale, while SK On brings one of the world’s largest EV‑battery manufacturing capabilities to the effort.
