Fadel Shaker to perform in Riyadh after 14-year hiatus

Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker is set to return to the stage for a major concert in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Riyadh Season festivities. The performance is scheduled for October 22 at the Abu Bakr Salem Theater.

Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, announced the event, describing it as a “historic contract with a historic star.” Shaker appeared in a video from Riyadh expressing his gratitude to Alalshikh following the announcement. The concert, themed “Return of the Absent,” marks Shaker’s first major public performance after a 14-year hiatus from live stages.

This musical comeback follows recent legal developments in Lebanon. After years of staying in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, Shaker surrendered to authorities in October 2025 and was later acquitted of assassination attempt charges in May. He had previously faced in-absentia sentences related to the events in Abra, charges which he has consistently denied.
