Fadhlina Sidek advocates for prison education and national unity

Malaysian Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has emphasized the importance of providing education to incarcerated individuals, stating that they deserve the opportunity to change their lives. During a visit to the Hijrah Kasih program, she noted that mistakes should not define a person's entire future and highlighted that schools within the prison system, such as Sekolah Integriti and Sekolah Henry Gurney, have achieved 100 percent success rates in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations in recent years.

Separately, Fadhlina highlighted the Jalur Gemilang (the Malaysian national flag) as a symbol of national unity. Speaking after participating in the Program Riadah Kibar Jalur Gemilang 2026, she remarked that despite differences in race, religion, and language, the flag serves as a unifying identity for all Malaysians. She expressed the importance of fostering patriotism among students through National Month celebrations in schools to ensure future generations feel a sense of ownership and responsibility toward the nation.
