Faenza basketball clubs launch youth‑focused rosters for Serie B2

Raggisolaris Faenza will field nine players from its Academy in the senior squad for the upcoming Serie B2 season. The nine youngsters – including playmakers Nicola Battistini and David Gaina Catana (born 2008), guards Deian Rustemaj and Simone Tampieri (2009), wings Cheick Mouhamadou Sy (2009) and Mattia Pieri (2008), forward Francesco Filippozzi (2008) and Michael Renzi (2007), and pivot Mattia Lucadamo (2008) – were selected by coach Luigi Pansa and Academy director Matteo Pio to boost training intensity and develop future senior‑level talent.

Fenix Energia Faenza announced its roster for the 2026/27 Serie B2 campaign, with a training camp set for 24 August. Coach Loris Polo highlighted a youthful squad with an average age of 20.7 years, retaining point guard Beatrice Altini and centers Lucia Benedetti and Chiara Esposto, while adding Esosa Enabulele as a permanent member. The club aims to translate the players' enthusiasm and prior youth‑sector experience into competitive performance.

Both clubs stress the importance of nurturing home‑grown talent while remaining competitive in the national second‑tier league.
