Fafá de Belém celebrates 50 years of career with musical and special recording
Brazilian singer Fafá de Belém is celebrating 50 years of her career through both theatrical and musical performances.
The musical production, ‘Fafá de Belém, o Musical’, is set to premiere in São Luís at the Teatro Arthur Azevedo from August 20 to August 30. Presented by the Ministry of Culture and Petrobras, the show explores the singer's life, from her childhood in the Amazon to her political involvement in the ‘Diretas Já’ movement and her support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The production features actress Lucinha Lins portraying the singer in her mature phase.
Additionally, the singer will record a special titled ‘FAFA 50’ in her hometown of Belém do Pará. The recording will take place at Palácio dos Bares, a venue known for the tecnobrega genre, featuring local artists such as DJs Will Lovee and Nat/Esquema. This project is a collaboration with the production company Altar Sonoro, aiming to connect music with Amazonian territory and memory.
