Fagersta school attack suspect may have serious mental disorder
An 18-year-old suspect in the August 21 school attack at Brinellskolan in Fagersta may suffer from a serious mental disorder, according to a preliminary medical examination.
The suspect is currently detained on charges of murder and three counts of attempted murder. The attack, which involved a sword, resulted in the death of a 17-year-old girl and injuries to three boys. Following the examination, medical officials have recommended a more comprehensive forensic psychiatric evaluation to determine if the individual should face psychiatric care or imprisonment if convicted.
A 16-year-old boy is also in custody, suspected of aiding in the murder and attempted murders.
