Fahad Bayo signs two-year contract with NEC FC

Ugandan striker Fahad Bayo has returned to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, signing a two-year contract with NEC FC ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 28-year-old forward previously played for Proline and Vipers SC before spending several years competing in Zambia, Israel, the Czech Republic, Ethiopia, and North Macedonia.

Bayo’s signing comes as NEC FC prepares for a Fufa Super 8 semi-final match against reigning holders SC Villa. SC Villa coach Zeljko Kovacevic has acknowledged the strength of NEC, noting that despite Villa winning three times against them last season, the upcoming match will present a difficult challenge. NEC advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Entebbe UPPC 3-2 on aggregate, while SC Villa progressed by defeating Maroons 4-2.
