Fahd A Rafiq named suspect in third corruption case
Golkar Party politician Fahd A Rafiq has been named a suspect in a corruption case, marking the third time he has been involved in such legal proceedings.
Ahmad Doli Kurnia, Vice Chairman of the Golkar Party, expressed regret over the situation, noting that the party had previously given Fahd a second chance to serve in party leadership after he completed prior prison sentences. Kurnia stated that the party views criminal punishment as a means to provide lessons and deterrence, and emphasized that the party did not intervene in his previous legal cases, treating them as personal matters.
Forensic psychology expert Reza Indragiri suggested that Fahd's status as a recidivist raises questions regarding the effectiveness of correctional programs. Indragiri called for the disclosure of risk assessment reports from the Directorate General of Corrections to evaluate whether proper rehabilitation and recidivism prevention measures were implemented during Fahd's previous incarcerations.
