Fahmi Fadzil confirms safety of National Day human graphic structure

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil has confirmed that the tiered steel structure used for the human graphic performance during the 2026 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya is safe. Addressing concerns regarding the structure's perceived instability, Fahmi explained that the design includes intentional flexibility, similar to a bridge, to accommodate the rhythmic movements of participants. A rigid structure could potentially compromise the performance system.

Fahmi also addressed observations that the structure appeared asymmetrical or off-center relative to the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) complex. He clarified that this is an optical illusion caused by the fact that the parade route and the PPj buildings are not aligned on the same axis. He has requested the secretariat to make adjustments in future preparations to mitigate such perceptions.

Preparations for the National Day celebrations are nearly 100% complete. This year's performance will involve 1,500 students and will feature assets such as the Johor Military Force (JMF) and Malaysian Maritime assets, including Ibrahim-class boats.
