Fahmi Fadzil denies using court cases to intimidate UMNO leaders
Malaysian Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has denied allegations that court cases and enforcement agencies are being used to intimidate UMNO leaders. He emphasized that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Unity Government remain consistent in their policy of non-interference regarding enforcement agency investigations.
Fahmi noted that the government does not intervene to initiate or halt any investigations. He highlighted that the administration is following the directives of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, who has called for thorough investigations into issues involving Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) to ensure accountability.
The Minister stated that the current administration's priority is to strengthen governance, management, and institutional reform. He expressed confidence that the Unity Government will continue to fulfill its responsibilities effectively until the end of its term.
