Fahmi Fadzil launches patriotic convoy and outlines Budget 2027 priorities

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil launched the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) X JAGO 2026 program for the Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya regions to foster patriotism during National Month. The convoy, involving approximately 35 participants and 10 vehicles from various government agencies including the Royal Malaysia Police and the Fire and Rescue Department, will visit six locations across the capital.

During the event, Fahmi also addressed upcoming fiscal priorities, stating that Budget 2027 will focus on addressing the cost of living amidst global geopolitical uncertainties and fluctuating oil prices. He emphasized the need for projects that provide immediate relief to citizens and attract both domestic and international investment.

Additionally, the Minister noted that the Ministry of Communications is considering incentives such as the Concert and Event Incentive in Malaysia (CEMI) and the Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI) to bolster the media industry. Efforts to improve internet connectivity in rural areas also remain a priority.
