Fahriye Evcen Cast as Lead in ATV's New Drama “Hamal”

Turkish actress Fahriye Evcen has been confirmed as the female lead of “Hamal,” a new drama series on the ATV network. The casting ends weeks of speculation after journalist Birsen Altuntaş reported that Evcen finalized her contract.

“Hamal” is produced by and stars veteran actor Oktay Kaynarca, who previously headlined Ben Bu Cihana Sığmazam. The series is being billed as one of ATV’s flagship projects for the upcoming season, with a sizable investment, a screenplay by Kerem Deren and Çisil Hazal Tenim, and direction by Mustafa Şevki Doğan. The show will feature a strong ensemble around Kaynarca and Evcen.

The announcement coincides with Evcen’s husband, actor Burak Özçivit, also signing on for a separate new ATV series, meaning both stars are set to return to Turkish television in the same broadcast season.
